Disclaimer / Legal
Zalu Chat, hereafter "zChat", is a chat service developed solely by Jailout2000, hereafter "the author", at his home in the United States. The author uses software called REALbasic to develop this chat service.
If a user misbehaves on zChat, they are immediately banned for 5 minutes at which point if they try connecting, they are disconnected and 1 minute is added to their ban. A user can be banned for over a century (100 years) before they are unbanned, there is actually no real limit to how long they can be banned for.
If authorities come in contact with me, I can provide them with server logs and their personal data. zChat's server is not owned or hosted by anyone other than the author and as such, if it is found not to be in the hands of the author, the author will press charges for copyright infringement up the fullest extent in law in the United States.
zChat's server is copyrighted by the author as of 2008-2009. None of zChat's clients are copyrighted, and anyone is allowed to make their own client. It is up the the end-user's decision to use a client that I make or someone else makes, an end-user is not required to use one of my clients.
Authorities or local law-enforcement are allowed to contact the author about any information they need about zChat and/or its users, if they need other information, it can probably be provided, but there are no guarantees. All personal data is kept private between the owner of the data (the user), their client, the author, and zChat. No personal data is shared or advertised to anyone or service outside of zChat and its network. As such, personal data such as the friends list, log records, and passwords are kept private whereas personal data such as their username, are not kept private nor can their username be kept private.
zChat allows web browsers (commonly mistaken as "the internet") to see who is logged on, and in what channels. Private data such as a person's username or "private channel name" cannot be kept private without prior permission by the zChat server itself. Data that can be seen by others using zChat is also seen by these web browsers. This data can be accessed by search-engine bots that do not follow the robots.txt functionality. A robots.txt file resides within the web browsing part of zChat's server, which should direct search-engine bots away from this data, however no guarantee can be given because this data is seen by anyone who wants it.
zChat does not:
- Give out personal information that cannot be seen by others.
- Share or advertise illegal programs or content such as warez and/or pictures.
- Sell anyone's account or information to any organization outside of zChat.
- Illegally install or use client software for spyware and/or virus purposes.
zChat can and probably will:
- Log all connection attempts, logon attempts, and general user-actions.
- Co-operate with authorities to help find more information about a specific user or person.
- Deny anyone to the server who spams or misbehaves on the server.
- Allow clients to act as robots (often referred to as "bots") on the server for any purpose.
With this said, and if you need more information, you may use the Contact information to find out more from the author.
